Day 1: Kandy
Breakfast at a restaurant of your choice near the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
Get lost among the gentle giants at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, the largest of its kind in South-East Asia. Walk hand-in-hand with your loved one among nature’s most majestic of creatures as they go about their day being pampered by well trained mahouts. Schedule your visit to coincide with the elephants’ bathing and feeding times and you are on your special friend will be in for a treat.
Come lunch time, we set off to Kandy, the hill capitol of Sri Lanka. Once there, check into the hotel, and either enjoy the buffet there or head out for lunch someplace else, after which you can relax at the hotel premises.
Feel free to explore the city during the remainder of the day. Take your partner for a walk around the Kandy Lake, or spoil them with gifts and traditional handicrafts you can buy at the many antique stores and gift shops that litter the city.
You may have dinner either at the hotel or outside, depending on your preference. The night will be spent at the hotel in Kandy.
Day 2: Kandy
After an early breakfast at the hotel, you can take a trip to the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, home to over 4000 species of exotic flora from various parts of the world and a true feast for the senses. The lush greenery provides a great backdrop for all your Instagram photos and selfies. Shut out the rest of the world and be alone with your beloved in the shade of some of the most beautiful trees in the country.
Sitting on a picture-perfect plateau 500 metres above sea level, Kandy is, in essence, the heart and soul of the island. So a city tour is an essential addition to your romantic getaway. Enjoy the many sights and sounds this great city, which also happens to be the country’s last kingdom, has to offer.
You may have lunch at the hotel or at one of the numerous restaurants in and around the city. (Be sure to check out the Kandy City Centre, one of the biggest malls in the country. Pro-tip: lots of good traditional sweets here).
The evening can be spent exploring the Temple of the Tooth (or Dalada Maligawa, as it is locally known) – a sort of Vatican or Mecca for Buddhists the world over. It is said to be home to the Buddha’s tooth relic which is paraded around the city in August every year, in a glamorous and coloruful display of culture and tradition.
(The city tour will also include a vibrant cultural dance).
You may have dinner either at the hotel or a preferred restaurant outside. The night can be spent at the hotel in Kandy.
Day 3: Haputale
Breakfast will be served at the hotel, followed by a quiet, 50km drive to Haputale, a mountain range so picturesque it could be something straight out of a postcard. A haven for lovers, it is the perfect refuge from prying eyes.
En route, you can stop for lunch in Nuwara Eliya, and chill a bit at the scenic Gregory Lake, one of the most breathtaking lakes in the country.
Check in at the hotel, and enjoy the rest of your evening, letting the cool Nuwara Eliya climate wash over you like a long awaited shower.
Dinner can be had either at the hotel or outside, depending on what you are in the mood for. If you’re feeling extra romantic, we suggest you go all out and do candle-lit.

Day 4: Haputale
Rise and shine! This is going to be a day to remember, with a killer view to boot.
Breakfast will be served at the hotel, after which you can head out to Lipton’s Seat, located 1970m above sea level, providing you a bird’s eye view of five different provinces. It is to die for. April to August would be the best time to visit this truly magnificent place – one that, mark our words, you can talk about for years to come. If you feel like popping the question to your sweetheart during your stay in Sri Lanka, this is where you want to do it.
Before heading back down to lunch, you might want to stop by the Dambetenne tea factory, one of the better known tea estates in the region with its colonial heritage still intact.
Have lunch at either the hotel or outside, and spend the rest of the day relaxing and taking in the natural, unspoilt beauty of the hill country.
There is also Baker’s Falls, a popular waterfall that attracts many a local and foreign tourist, despite the at times blistering cold.
Dinner, again, at either at the hotel or outside, and the night will be spent at the hotel in Haputale.
Day 5: Bentota
Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a long drive to Bentota, a beautiful coastal town in southern Sri Lanka, located on the southern bank of the Bentota River mouth. Among the attractions here are a picture-perfect beach that stretches for miles, a turtle hatchery and mangroves and, of course, beautiful, drop-dead gorgeous sunsets you can watch with a couple of cold ones and your arm around your better half.
Have lunch at either the hotel or at any of the beach-front restaurants scattered across the area, after which you can check into the hotel.
You are here to have a good time, so slip into that swimsuit and spend all day on the beach, catching some rays or taking a dip in the Indian Ocean.
Have dinner at the hotel or outside and get back to the hotel for your scheduled overnight stay.
Day 6: Bentota
Breakfast will be served at hotel. And then we make our way to the Bentota River for some serious water sporting action. Water-skiing, diving, windsurfing, wave boarding, banana-boating, speed boating, jet skiing… you name it, they’ve got it. Perfect to add some spice to your romantic getaway.
Then we check out the turtle hatchery, a sanctuary for many different species of endangered turtle, followed by a fun boat ride on the Madu River.
Have lunch at either the hotel or outside and spend the rest of the evening relaxing by the beach.
Dinner at either the hotel or outside. The night will be spent at the hotel in Bentota.

All good things must come to an end, so after a memorable final breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the airport via Colombo.
Feel free to indulge in copious amounts of retail therapy while in Colombo. The number of malls and department stores are ever on the rise, so rest assured you will be spoiled for choice. A trip to one of the numerous spas in Colombo would be a nice way to finish your holiday.
If you can spare the time, you may even take a short tour of the city.
